Cottonwood Church Home Who We Are Programs Resources

Letter from the Pastor

Welcome to Cottonwood Church.  We are happy that you have connected with us and hope that it is a good experience for you.  We want all of our guests to feel welcome at our worship services and at all of our programs and activities.

Our goal as a congregation is to “Gather community and grow in Christ.”  People need a place to belong, a group where they can be themselves, and yet, be connected to others in a meaningful way.  We want to be that kind of community:  Individually different, but united together in who we are and what we believe.  But we don’t want to stay right where we are.  We want to grow together.  We are a faith community and we want to grow together in our faith in Jesus Christ.  It is in Him and through Him that we become the new people we long to be.  While none of us  has fully arrived, we are on a journey of faith together.  And there is room for you.

Elsewhere on the site you can see more of who we are and what we believe.  However, if you would like to receive more information about Cottonwood, or want to talk with the pastor, a staff member, or a member of the congregation we’d certainly like to meet you.  You can call the office and talk to us here, or leave a message and we will return your call.  Or, email the church and we will get back to you.   Thanks for taking some time to find out about us.  Let us know how we can be there for you.

Welcome to Cottonwood Church. Thank you for spending some time with us. Since being the “new person” anywhere can be a little daunting at times, we've come up with a few questions that you might have before visiting.

1. Where is the church?
2. What are the service times?
3. What do I wear?
4. What are the child care arrangements?
5. What is a service like?
6. I've come for a service. Now what?
7. How do I become a member?

If you have any other questions, please contact us.

1. Where is the church?
Our address is 1101 Cypress Drive, Jenison, MI 49428. Please see our “Driving Directions” for a detailed approach.

2. What are the service times?
We meet every Sunday with services starting at 9:39am and 5:00pm. Plan to arrive a few minutes beforehand to find a seat and stay around after for some coffee and conversation.

3. What do I wear?
There are no dress codes. We only want you be comfortable. There is a wide range of dress in our congregation ranging from suits and dresses to t-shirts and jeans.

4. What are the child care arrangements?
We have a nursery on the lower level staffed by volunteers from the congregation. When checking your child into the nursery, you will receive a number that will be shown if there is an issue requiring your attention. All volunteers have gone through a background check to ensure your childrens' safety.

5. What is a service like?
Our services are an opportunity to connect with God through worship.  You will find a variety of music, a relevant Bibilical message and people just like you.

6. I've come for a service. Now what?
Our church doesn't stop going after Sundays. There a number of different groups and programs for all ages. None of these groups have a requirement of church membership. Check out our Programs to find out the many ways you can become involved.

7. How do I become a member?
In order to become a member of our church, you will need to talk to the pastor. Depending on your background, brand new to church life versus switching churches, multiple meetings may be needed to make sure you are aware of what is involved in membership.
